An Italian American born in Media, PA on 12-20-70, Dennis had a bizarre upbringing (book pending) which included the attendance of over 24 schools. Having relocated so frequently, drawing became a powerful tool for socializing as well as an important means of self-expression. By the age of 16 Dennis was supporting himself while finishing high school in Long Island, NY, where he graduated with honors and earned a four year scholarship to
Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. It was while living in Manhattan that Dennis, 19 years of age, first put black and white Plaka casein on a few wooden boards. This specific combination of materials unleashed a new and definitive style, more adaptable to the exploration of his mystical interests. As his spiritual realizations began to direct him from a strictly corporeal identification, so too did his work change to reflect his awareness; out of realism and literal representation was born a symbolic system better suited to the expression of metaphysical concepts. Dennis moved to New Orleans in 1991 where he quickly developed a reputation as a street musician, or "the bucket guy", and began learning about New Orleans literally from the ground up. These days Dennis is a licensed artist in New Orleans and continues to explore his unique style in the bohemian atmosphere of his warehouse studio, where he lives with his dog Maxine, and her dog Saski.
